Customer Journey Analytics without the migration chaos
Moving from Adobe Analytics to Customer Journey Analytics fails for teams that treat it as a lift-and-shift, because report suites, segments, and calculated metrics don't translate one-to-one into CJA's data views. Webclat scopes the migration as a data-architecture project - schemas and data views designed on purpose - and runs Adobe Analytics and CJA side by side until the numbers agree before anything is switched off. Analysts keep the Analysis Workspace interface they already know while the underlying model actually improves.
The situation
Adobe is clearly steering us toward Customer Journey Analytics, but every migration story we've heard involves months of confusion and reports that don't match afterward.
The pain
Committing to CJA feels like trading a system the team already understands for one that might not work any better, at real project cost and real risk to the numbers everyone already relies on.
What we implement
We design the XDM schema and data views CJA actually needs - rather than copying report suite settings over as-is - and run Adobe Analytics and CJA in parallel until they agree within an agreed tolerance, which is the same disciplined migration process applied to CJA instead of the Web SDK.
What you get
- A CJA data view your analysts can trust on day one, not months later.
- Segments and calculated metrics rebuilt intentionally instead of half-migrated by a tool.
- A validated cutover, so leadership sees continuity instead of a reporting gap.
Illustrative, not a measured result: an enterprise team migrating three report suites into one CJA connection might spend more time on identity and data-view design than on the tooling itself; the real ratio depends on how many sources feed the connection.
FAQ
Does Adobe's Component Migration tool handle the whole CJA migration?
It gives you a head start on inventory - it can recreate segments, calculated metrics, date ranges, and projects once you confirm a mapping - but it doesn't carry over attribution settings, tags, sharing, or curation, and several panel types have to be removed before a project will migrate at all. Treat it as one input to a planned migration, not the migration itself.
Do we have to give up Analysis Workspace?
No - Analysis Workspace is the same interface in both products, so analysts who know Adobe Analytics are productive in CJA quickly. What's genuinely new is the data model underneath it: datasets, connections, and data views instead of a single report suite.
